Maison established the spatial and experiential direction of the clinic, defining how the patient journey is shaped from entry through treatment.

Context
A plastic surgery clinic requiring a contemporary environment, with initial expectations centred around clinical efficiency and aesthetic refinement.
Tension
Typical clinic environments prioritise sterility or surface-level luxury, often neglecting the emotional state of patients and the need for reassurance, privacy and control throughout their visit.
Maison Direction
Maison redefined the clinic around tactile reassurance as a non-negotiable, using spatial progression and materiality to ease patients through each stage of their journey. The design focuses on how spaces are encountered and felt, rather than how they present visually.
Spatial Moves
The clinic is organised as a sequence of distinct environments, guiding patients from registration through waiting and consultation, with each space calibrated in scale and atmosphere to support comfort and privacy.
Proportion was used as a governing tool, with classical ratios informing spatial relationships to create a sense of balance and ease.
Material choices were treated as experiential elements, with textured surfaces and natural stones selected for their tactile and sensory qualities, reinforcing a sense of calm and grounding.
Impact
The clinic operates as a controlled and reassuring environment, where patients are gradually guided from initial anxiety toward a more composed state. By aligning spatial sequence, proportion and materiality, the design supports both privacy and emotional comfort, redefining how a medical setting is perceived and used.
